Today was once again an amazing day out in service!!
Have you've ever seen any of our literature in the garbage or possibly on the ground and felt the urge to pick it up?
Quick story: Today while taking the metro, Gina and I saw a man reading one of our Watchtower magazines. Ok, so? Happens all the time, right? Well, this incident was different! The Watchtower he was reading was super old, dirty, and wrinkled! Looked like he had picked it up from the garbage! Yes! He was possibly reading a WT that had been thrown away! How exciting?! Right?!
Immediately, I searched through my WTs to see if I had a recent Spanish issue to give him. But sadly, I didn't. Then I wanted to take a picture for y'all, but I was too slow, we had arrived at our destination. And we had to be at the stand at 4 o'clock on the dot! Then I thought, we should have preached to him, but again we only rode the metro for one stop and had to be on time for the stand. :/
But there is no doubt that people are learning about Jehovah in all types of different ways! From door to door, to informal witnessing, and even through the garbage!
Also, let us never underestimate what "an old issue"(less recent issue) of the WT can do for someone! With help of the Bible, it can change their lives! (Hebrews 4:12)
Wherever I go, my purpose in life is to serve my loving Creator, Jehovah. Everything I accomplish is thanks to Him. So sit back and relax while I share with you life in Mexico City! "As cold water upon a tired soul, so is a good report from a distant land." -Proverbs 25:25

Service With Ecatepec Ingles
On Tuesday I had the privilege of going out in service with Ecatepec Ingles. I met up with 2 sisters from D.C. One came down with her parents 3 months ago to help out in the English field. Once again I am amazed to see first hand families simplify their lives, sell their homes, cars and personal items to move to where the need is great. The other sister was on vacation down here but had served in Queretaro for 4 years when she was 19. I told her I admired her because she had just turned 19, she didn't know Spanish and came down here by herself. And she is African American! We don't see many of our black friends here. Well at least not in the city.
Anaid and I found a man who's parents are witnesses and when he was living in the states he would attend the meetings. But hasn't since he moved back. We left him last months's magazines and invited him to the meetings. We hope he visits!! I think all together the group found 5 people who spoke English.
After service we went to Walmart for some packaged arrachera. We cooked it a sister's house and had fresh tortillas, salsa, avocado and black beans. Accompanied with aqua de melon! And homemade flan for dessert! It was absolutely delicious!! And what was even better was the company of the friends! Couldn't have asked for anything better!!
Special thanks to Danny PatiƱo who "introduced" Anaid and I via email. I was sooo happy to spend the day with "Americans" :D
But it's thanks to Jehovah who allows us to be a part of a worldwide brotherhood where you can meet a complete strangers and by the end of the day feel like you've known each other for years!!
"However, with reference to brotherly love, YOU do not need us to be writing YOU, for YOU yourselves are taught by God to love one another;" -1 Th. 4:9

I Have Survived My First Month!!!
Can you believe it's October 1st!??! Wow, has time flown by! A month ago today we arrived to what we would soon call 'la Casa'. I am amazed how in such little time my view of living here in Mexico has changed. I don't love it, but I can handle it:)
Of course, I still miss home a lot! Well, my friends and family, because I really don't have a home to go back to. (haha!) But thanks to technology, I have been able to keep in touch with a lot of you. So I don't feel completely disconnected from everyone. Thank you to everyone who have put aside some time to FaceTime, Skype, or Tango with me:D
As for my parents, my dad is happy because he has his family here. For those wondering about my dad, a brother is reviewing with him questions and answers only, twice a week with the Bible Teach. Praying to Jehovah that soon he will start to make baby steps into becoming one of Jehovah's witnesses.
My mom is happy too, because she has my dad and I with her. But she misses my brother and niece A LOT. And so do I, I try not to think about it too much because I can easily start crying:( but what keeps me in peace is knowing that they are well, and they are faithfully serving Jehovah.
Mom and dad like their new congregation, of course we all terribly miss our congregation back home!! And service! My mom is having such a hard time getting used to service here, they walk a lot! And because they have such little territory that is covered every 3-4 weeks they stand in front of a house for at least 15-20 min. Whether they open the door or not, to make time. Very different.
I like service here. I think the only disadvantage in the English, is that you don't really get to talk about the Bible to many people going door to door. A lot of the people who speak English work. But that's when we have to work hard on calling back, establishing bible studies and informal witnessing!
Service experiences:
Today a sister called back on a lady whom we found going door to door and spoke to her through the intercom last week. She apologized for not being able to open the door for us last week. At first, she thought we were looking for classes to learn English. Then she thought we were offering her classes and said she had no money at the time. But the sister then explained our free at home Bible study. She said no for the moment but gladly accepted the October WT issue.
2 weeks ago a man approached the stand we set up on Thursdays near the metro stop. The sisters placed some literature with him and also invited him to the meeting on Sunday. To their surprise he went!! (I wasn't there that Sunday) but they said that a sister took down his info and hope he will start to study soon.
We have a lot of work to do. But little by little, house by house, street by street, colonia por colonia we are doing a census to find those who speak English and have a noble heart to learn about our loving Creator, Jehovah.
Mexico has a lot to offer, great friends, fresh fruit, lots of transportation, fresh out of the oven sweet bread, food stands like in every block, little stores like on every 2 blocks, great weather, a nice burning sun! And I haven't even gone sightseeing yet!
What I miss..
Well, I miss you! Of course!;)
Ok, I miss AC and comfortable chairs at the Kingdom Hall!! I miss walking into a nice cold air conditioned KH. But to solve that problem I always have my handy fan in my purse! Plus, they have ceiling fans in the KH:D Back in the states oh how I love resting my arms on the KH's chairs' arm rest! But I will have to do without doing that here:( Don't misunderstand me, I am very thankful we have a KH to praise and worship Jehovah! But man do I miss those nice, comfy chairs and the AC! Jejeje:D
I miss my car!!!! Getting to and from service and the meetings is a trip! I have to leave my house at least 25 min before. Which isn't as bad, but I had gotten so used to driving as much as 15 min for service and 2 min to get to the meetings. Yes, we were very spoiled!! We had the KH so close and not once did we walk to the meeting, and now? We walk crazy long distances! Ok maybe not crazy long, but definitely what I would walk in a month, I walk here in a week!
Our washer and dryer!
Please be thankful for your washer and dryer or your local laundry mat! lol!
Alright I'll write more later!!
Mucho amor agape!!

Service with the Spanish congregation
Service has been great! Whether they answer the doors or not. We are giving testimony just by walking the streets going door to door. People know that we are preaching the Good News of Jehovah's Kingdom!
I placed my first Bible Teach book
I was able to reason with a man who was fixing up a house. We were able to reason from the scriptures that God's name is Jehovah. That not all will go to heaven but that majority will reside here on earth in a paradise. And I mentioned the donation to the world wide work. And to my surprise he donated 10 pesos!!! Yay!!! May all glory and honor go to our loving Father Jehovah!
The loving sisters
I've been able to meet some amazing sisters. They are loving and so sweet! One sister, hermanita Lupita goes out in service everyday and besides the fact that she is 80 years old she is very zealous in her ministry!
Everyday I get nervous with whom I will be assign with. So I pray to Jehovah and ask him to help me not to be shy and to enjoy service to the fullest. And Jehovah has so kindly allowed me to enjoy it beyond my expectations. The sisters provide a listening ear, and understand how much I miss home. And they so lovingly give me advice and give me hugs and kisses to welcome me. Even tho I miss my home congregation, soo much that on Friday during prayer I started to cry. But without anyone noticing I quickly wiped my tears prayed to Jehovah once more and headed out door to door. Well, I ended up working with 3 sisters. And I enjoyed it so much! The last sister i worked with told me she is planning to visit Costa Rica in January. She was just there on a pioneer route in March and April. So, she so kindly welcomed me to go along with her! Jehovah willing, I will be able to travel to Costa Rica for the Special Assembly and be able to meet the friends and enjoy service with them.
Well, that is all for today. It's very late or should I say really early in the morning. Yikes! I must sleep!
